Welcome! This is Hope Sparks, a weekly newsletter about making changes in our lives.
I’m diving into:
Returning to my wild.

Why salient moment map?
My invitation to you. Let’s go on a bear hunt.
Returning to my wild
"The ultimate truth of who you are is not 'I am this' or 'I am that,' but 'I Am.' Finding that space within yourself is finding the home of your soul." - Mooji
From 0-11 years I lived in the UK. Yes, I had a tinkling Brit accent.
I’m back in the UK this week. Being here feels both familiar and ancient. Like stepping back into an old chapter in my book of life. Replete with a dusty old book smell and both sweet and sour stories.
Although I wasn’t born in the UK, it feels like the birthplace of my wildness. A sanctuary untamed by the constraints of the world. The place I sparked a wild curiosity for the many paths I could follow. I remember feeling that anything was possible.
And it was.
My chapter in the UK remains a bright spot on my personal map. I remember many moments when I decided on purpose to re-invent myself. Sensations to follow my intuition. A brave little Hope who still guides my growth to this day.
I shared this in conversation with my dear friend and collaborator Livi Redden.
Being back in the UK physically cements being available for possibility—unconstrained by social norms and expectations.
Re-inventing oneself is a way of being. It’s not only for when we’re little with British accents. It’s for life. And it’s the opposite of all the doing we’re taught to get swept up in.
It’s a coming home to who you are.
Source a home that never moves
"Home is not where you are from, it is where you belong. Some of us travel the whole world to find it. Others, find it within themselves." - Beau Taplin
Imagine flipping through the pages of your life story, pausing at those moments that made you who you are.
We all possess a map of our lives that offer salient clues for how to live our best life.
I call it the Salient Moment Map. It’s a powerful coaching tool I’ve developed that involves reviewing one's life in 7-year increments. I developed it as a way to support myself and others to find their way back to their own compass.
Inspired by the works of Bruce Lipton and Dr. Joe Dispenza, the process entails exploring key patterns, values creation, nervous system triggers, and gaining insights into the factors that have shaped an individual's journey.
The word "salient" is an adjective that means most noticeable or important. It refers to something that stands out or is prominent. The root of the word can be traced back to the Latin word "salire," which means "to leap" or "to jump."
I love a good jump!
Salient moment mapping is about embracing those leaps in time, understanding how each 7-year chapter has played a role in your growth.
It's like recognizing the dots of your personal story. A home that never moves. A place within you can access at any time. A guide to come back to for strategies, wisdom and self-leadership.
Curious to reveal your own map?
Are you a even a little bit curious to explore your own map?
What will it reveal? How will it offer up clues for what’s possible?
Believe me. When you source it, tap into it and reflect on it, you’ll realize you’ve been sitting on a veritable goldmine. And, most likely you never knew it was there.
Ok, Why bother revealing your map?
Perhaps you’ve been searching for the place you truly feel at home? You’ve moved, explored, switched things up but no where feels just right.
You’ve been waiting for someone to give you the map to get you there….not sure where…but better than here…
You spend time hunting for permission (out there) to change the stories in your head. Paradigms that have hemmed you in, giving you rules and ‘truths’ to follow carefully. But they don’t feel true any more.
The winning strategies you’ve developed over your life that help you to win do work. You’re winning on many fronts, but your life is yet to feel fulfilled.
"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." - Rumi
If any of these ring true, and you’re keen to explore what gems lie hidden in your own map, stick with me.
